Bone Mass and Index
Bone Mass Index, a measure of the weight of your bone tissue, is an indicator of possible future osteoporosis.
As you age your bone mass declines, leading to a higher risk of bone fracture. That's why it's important to include calcium in your diet and get regular exercise to help keep your bones strong and healthy.

A standard technique for measuring Bone Mineral Content and determing your Bone Mass is DXA or Dual Energy X-ray Absorption. Although accurate, this method can be expensive and time consuming.
The Body Composition Analyzer (BCA) uses advanced bio-impedance analysis to quickly measure bone mass and, as the graphs below show, there is a close correlation with results obtained with DXA.

BCA provides easy-to-read results, including your total bone weight (pounds or kg), bone index (100 = nominal), and even a chart comparing your body fat and bone mass.
